Welcome to the homepage of the 10th European Bird Curator Meeting!

1st Circular

 

The conference will be hosted at the National Museum of Natural History (Muséum National d'Histoire Naturelle) in the Jardin des Plantes, in the heart of Paris, from the 17th to the 19th of October 2017. 

Lecture sesions will take place in the Amphitheater of Comparative Anatomy and Palaeontology on Tuesday 17 October, at the Auditorium of the Grande Galerie de l'Evolution on Wednesday 18 and Thursday 19 October (see attached map).

Poster sessions will take place in the Comparative Anatomy Lab on Wednesday 18 and Thursday 19 October, from 9:00 to 10:20.

 

The scientific program of the meeting will focus on The use of collections in the 21st century. Several topics have been identified:

- Preparation techniques and conservation of collections

- “New” collection types and their use

- Collections of historical and scientific importance in Natural History Museums

- Collections and climate change

- Osteological collections and their use

- Databases types and uses

- Miscellaneous

 

Most of the presentation will be in English but presentations in French with a PowerPoint in English will be accepted.

 

Oral contributions will be schedules for 15 minutes plus 5 minutes of discussion. Poster presentation will also be possible but posters should be printed with an anti-fire treatment.

 

All submission will be peer reviewed and papers accepted to be presented at the conference will be included in the conference proceedings.

 

At this stage of the organization, registration fees are 160 euros.

 

Participants are kindly requested to return a pre-registration form by Septembre 15. For those of you planning to give a paper or present a poster, at this point we need only a provisional title and a few keywords, and the session in which you plan to give your presentation.
